I too have been plagued with Panic Attacks in the past. Know that they can NOT hurt you even though the feeling is certain that it will. That’s all it is is a feeling. I also pray that you are seeking help from a competent counselor or psychologist. Personally I do NOT recommend medications for Panic Attack but suggest you seek therapy instead.

In the meantime, look at it as God’s boot camp. He’s getting you in shape spiritually by challenging you. You’re doing great, because you DID turn to Him (and us, His children) for help! Keep up the good work and don’t forget to offer up your sufferings in reparation for sin. Redemptive suffering is a very powerful thing!

I would like to tell you that I once was very much in your condition. God is more than able to heal you and deliver you. What should I be afraid of is what the psalmist asked himself? The worst that could happen to any of us isn’t even classified as fearful… if we trust God and know that right now our Lord has dispatched angels to protect you. Just keep saying the name of Jesus and ask him to cover you with his most precious blood. He died for us, for our fears, torments. I pray God would reveal himself to you and by all means get medication from your doctor so you can learn how to cope and while doing that read scripture and pray the rosary. Blessings

Hi Dan I am so sorry for what you are going through.I ahve been exactly where you are now.
You will be in my prayers…be assured of that.In the meantime try to do ‘alternative thinking’.Try to distract yourself from negative thoughts.For me reading books helped.Even when i kept reading the same line over & over again i persevered.EVentually you will be able to concentrate on the story & forget about your breathing & negative thoughts.Drink plenty of water daily & avoid caffeine.Of course pray.My friend you are in my thoughts & prayers God bless
