Really, after Orthodox fasts, Catholic fasts for me are a piece of cake

Sorry, I’m hearing the beans and rice calling my name for dinner. I can’t think of anything because all I hear is

BEANS AND RICE!

Can you drink water? If so, try drinking sparkling water. Make sure it’s plain water and doesn’t have sugar or other additives. I think Pierre is plain sparkling water. It’s the same as drinking water but the carbonation will give you a little bit of a fuller feeling. I don’t think that would be cheating would it?

No, since you can drink things other than water. You can have tea, coffee, milk, soda. So sparkling water would not be a problem.

Ok…I’m fasting today, but I’m STARVING!!! Just had to say

I’m at work and I can barely concentrate. I am going to eat at lunch time and save my snacks for before and after tonight’s Mass, so I can sleep tonight!

It’s true!

I am starving after only having oatmeal at 11am (it’s now 2:30).

I am so used to stuffing myself at the slightest sign of hunger (gluttony!) that 3 hours into a minor fast I am obsessed with eating.

We are so spoiled!

LOL at the Hot Dog comment…that really made me laugh!

Ok…so yesterday, I had my lunch with some yogurt and 2 pears.

Then at dinner I had a granola bar and before bed, a Skinny Cow (sugarless) yogurt bar (90 calories).

The thing is though, before Mass, I was really tired and it took everything to play with my daughter. Then as soon as I walked into the church, I felt energized. It was like all the angels and saints were really proud of me or something. I could feel the Holy Spirit so strongly within me. It was incredible.

I left that church feeling like a little happy child. I walked home feeling so proud of myself and full of happiness. I couldn’t get to sleep b/c I was feeling so happy.

I wasn’t expecting to feel that way, but it was awesome!
