I recently moved to a new state (South Carolina from Michigan)and I do not feel like I am accepted. (Northerner in the South???) I am getting depressed. I had hobbies and friends in Michigan. It is difficult to find a new network. I pray for strength and guidance to make my new home a happy, enjoyable one.

For your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Greetings from Michigan!

Prayers for you to help you find friends and to enjoy where you live now.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

:byzsoc: As the wife of a soldier I understand, we call it separation anxiety. I was raised in New Jersey and then moved to North Carolina and Florida. It takes time and patience to break through cultures. Go down town, visit historic places, get to know their history…and you’ll understand who they are. Many new people from the north are moving to SC, some being my friends. Nostalgia creeps up on us, but do not let it ruin your opportunity of new experiences. There are a lot of warm-wonderful southeners that can tech us some serious cooking:)

:crossrc: God bless you

See if they have a newcomers’ group there. My wife and I moved from Ohio to Pennsylvania 11 years ago. She joined the newcomers’ club (and still belongs to it) and we’ve made lots of friends through it.

See if your church has a group you could join. Hang in there, I’m betting things will get better for you.

Praying for you to make lots of friends!

Father, we trust in you to
guide us when we become depressed.
We ask you now to bring new
friends into this persons life.
You have given the “South”
a reputation as being friendly.
We ask that this friendliness
spread to all new comers.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus!
AMEN
