I'm surprised there hasn't been more hype about this:

While I am a big fan of Tesla not everything he envisioned would work. The earth’s magnetic field on the surface ranges from roughly .25 to .6 gauss and that is simply not strong enough to hover a car without a stronger opposing magnetic field. We already have maglev trains, but they require several thousand gauss to hover the cars on a magnetic cushion. The transformers used to generate the propulsive fields is also in the guideways to keep the weight of the cars down.

I would agree that many opposed Tesla’s ideas for competitive reasons, but be careful about buying into hype that we would all be the Jetsons if not for conspiracies to suppress Tesla’s ideas. Tesla was an engineering genius but he still had to work with the laws of physics.
If his plans were so harmless, and it would not work, why keep it classified up to this day? Wouldnt it be in progressions best interest to let modern experts take a look, see if they can work out some of the kinks? There must be some reason, they dont want ANYONE seeing these…?

The only plans I know the US goverment was interested in was his “death ray” plans. I could see why something like that would be classified. As I understand it all the remaining papers (something like 75-100 crates) we’re returned to his nephew in the 50s. Most things I’ve read implies that he had speculative notes that were not concrete plans. Most other things really read like conspiracy theories. In 80 years I would think some of his missing inventions would have been “rediscovered” so I really question that there are hundreds of inventions the goverment is supressing because of business interests.

The day is here!

Unfortunately, it looks like this will be the very day that the Cubs lose the opportunity to make it to the World Series. It seems sadly poetic…

Happy Back to the Future Day everyone!

Watched 1, now onto 2, and can’t wait for 3!! 😃

On October 21, 2015, my husband & I were actually in sync with popular culture! We watched BTTF II and enjoyed it immensely. We’re looking forward to BFFT III. 😃

Have you watched it yet? 😃

No - hoping to get around to it next week. We’ve been on a Steve McQueen binge the last few weeks - the first season of Wanted: Dead or Alive (1958) and The Great Escape. Hoping to get hold of The Towering Inferno again.

Do let us know what you think 🙂

My priest mentioned this in his homily yesterday. He did a good job of tying it to the Gospel, too. 🙂
