I’m taking a break from religion. I’ll be away for a while. I’ve started going to the therapist because something that looks like OCD, that’s why religion seems like a torture to me. This religion just feels like a prision, like a burden, specially at the sexual part. The sexual part seems so unnatural and I don’t quite understand a lot of things that the Church says are wrong. I don’t know what I’m going to do, don’t condemn me to Hell, I need to do this for my own sake, it was driving me crazy. I may just be back. Just pray for me, if it really does any good.

what you need to remember is that God knows what your going through. and in terms of my personal advice to you is that you may be overbearing too much information at once… it may seem overwhelming, ever think about just talking to Christ the way you would your therapist? Now im not trying to scare you but there are therapists out there that believe religion and christianity is a farce… how scary would that be if you were to totally get away from teh faith? the best thing you could do is sit in front of God in a Church and tlel him how you feel, even if you were to be away for some time he would understand… just dont leave forever… as far as sexuality goes… noone in the church ever said it wasnt natural, it just isnt meant for immorality… that is a precept, i think you should talk to a preist in a confession about waht you feel, say it exactly how you would a therapist, because im telling you right now, i have been from therapist to therapist, and ntohing heals like christ,

i wish you all the best , find the truth, ill keep you always in my prayers, dont burden yourself, its not mean to be a burden, i know what your feeling and pray for me too

the fact of the matter is that impurity is going to be impurity no matter which was or approach you look at it i just hope god provides you the grace to come back

I wish I knew if there is a solution. I had often asked myself about the sexual part as well, and still struggle with it. Though I did leave the faith because of it, I did come back and leaving the faith is not something I would recommend, especially since I believe I have a lot to answer for.

Just remember this. God never wanted to put a burden on you, quite the opposite. He wants to relieve you of your burden. We are a Church of sinners. We will always welcome you back. Also, keep in mind, about the sexual part, nothing we do nowadays is natural. Typing away at our keyboards, brushing our teeth… I don’t consider these activities natural yet we do it anyways.

Best of wishes on your journey. I have OCD, it is manageable. Have hope! I am pray you find God and find peace with what He deems virtuous. I pray Jesus gives you understanding of His Sacred Heart so that you may be able to love what He loves and hate what He hates. Amen. :signofcross:

If you are still going to Mass, consider trying this - at the consecration of the Eucharist when the priest lifts the host, in your imagination reach inside your chest and pull out your heart and lift it up to God and ask Him to make your heart like Jesus.

All the best to you ❤️
