Imagine that you are now the pope. What are the top three things that you would change about the Church?

I would also, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, institute a special council of Bishops who investigate these abominable Clown, and halloween, and Liturgical dance “Masses” and will have whoever responsible for it excommunicated unless if they do a perfect act of contrition, and admit what they did was a heresy. Mass is not a play folks.

But seriously like I mentioned above, my big focus would be on making mandatory prayers and holy hours that focus solely on the Holy Souls in Purgatory, They are begging for our help.

Of course I’m just a 20 yr old, I would never be the Successor of Peter, but hey just givin my opinions:shrug:
 
Cleansing the Church Officials terminate all the decievers, Seperate Churcg from Politics adn make Chuch independent.

  1. Encourage Catholics to carry their Bibles to church. Encourage them to memorize more of the Holy Scriptures.
  2. I would be asking a couple of questions. I would be asking these on a weekly basis. How would you act if Jesus were right beside you? What does it mean to live a Holy life? This question has to do with holiness. Would you be Pro Abortion? Would you use filthy language? Would you watch filthy TV/Movies? Would you look at porn? Hopefully you would live a life that is pleasing to him. Anyway, before I start to preach, we have to live more pious lives.
  3. Allow the Polish National Catholic Churrch, The Catholic Apostolic National Church, some Episcopal churches, and other liturgical Churches, that agree with Catholic theology to come back to Rome.
 
1). Allow priests to marry. Even Paul stated in his epistles, though he didn’t, he had the right to marry. I have no problem with priests choosing to continue to be celebrate, I just think that the Church shouldn’t be barring priests from marrying as I believe they have the right to do so.

2). Revisit the issue of ordaining women. Not an outright reversal of the Church policy but a chance for Biblical scholars to look at it to make sure it is or is the right thing to do.

3). Tone back the political rhetoric. Not on abortion, but on the War against Islamic Extremists and immigration.

No, tone down the Catholic Church’s speaking out against the War on Islamofascism.
 
Well, the Church seems to frown on the US’s attempt to fight against Islamist Extremists. I think the Church should cut the US some slack and understand that our government is obligated to retaliate against threats against the nation. Sure, you can argue about strategy like whether we should have invaded Iraq (my opinion is that, in hindsight, no, but at the time, with the intelligence we had at the time, it was a potential threat), but when people are attacking a nation, it is the government duty, handed down from God Himself, to defend its citizens.

Iám fallible as you can see. But here goes.

I would ask all the descenters to agree and fall in with church teaching or leave… We are catholic they are not.

Communion on the tounge, lay hands are not consicrated.

Insist that the line for confession was at least the same size as the communion line.

If that sounds militant it’s not it is called obediance.

1 and only–revert the Church back to pre-Vatican II standards, period.

Since when is mentioning the word Protestant is name-calling? And how about giving the Latin a rest, I know you think your pious by using it, but it dosen’t impress me.

Did I wrong you in a previous life? Why the animosity?

“Protestant” is not name-calling when used accurately. There was nothing in the Crossovers post that was inherently protestant though.

Carry the Bible to church? For what, to impress the Protestants? What do you think the Gospel is?
Those churches you mention can come back anytime they please, I’m sure Pope Benedict would be there with open arms.

While this is nothing I like, the poster here, if he was Pope would be able to implement such a discipline, as a celebate priesthood is just a discipline.

I do not believe this is possible, as it misses the point that only men are valid matter for the priesthood. Furthermore, this is the one issue here that has been infallibly defined.

Yes, the Pope would be able to guide the Church on such matters, so this is not an unrealistic point to have.

Bear in mind that nothing here has to do with Protestant theology, though.

To be more clear, the part that is disciplinary is the part where we select only single men for the priesthood.

The Pope could choose to also select from married men for the priesthood, too. But it would never be possible to allow a single man who is already a priest, to get married. This would go against the Apostolic Tradition, so it will always be true that “priests can’t get married” - but married men could become priests, if the Pope decided so. 🙂
