Hello all. Recently, I purchased an iPad to ease my college experience (18 credit hours, a Classics major on the teaching track with a dual minor in Philosophy and Comm Studies - I need as little weight as possible, as Classics and Philosophy are rather text-heavy and Comm Studies rather tech-heavy at my university). I discovered on the app store an “iMissal” - which contains everything a normal missal does, except it is digital.
My question is this: would such an app be appropriate for use at Mass by a layman, or would the usage of such cause undue scandal? I do not see much use for a missal if it goes unused for its purpose.
Also, would it be appropriate to get my iPad blessed by a priest? It contains currently two Bibles, many spiritual works, a virtual rosary, and an examination of conscience (along with a few text books and a Latin literature/grammar/dictionary omnibus). A computer was the primary material cause of much of my personal sin - now there is a computation device with the potential to help correct that.
Thank you.
