May I ask who your source is? Because you can buy all seventy seven Nisibene Hymns from Gorgis Press.
I only see a translation by JT Sarsfield Stopford. That is what is published on newadvent.org, CCEL and other sites. It says "[XXII.–XXV. (wanting); XXVI. (only a fragment remains); XXVII.–XXXIV. (relate to Edessa and Carrhæ).] " Maybe the fragment is relating to 26 only. I can’t tell. Anyway he translated 1-21;35-42; and 52-68 only. Were there other available copies that he didn’t translate?
The one from Gorgias Press is translated by Gustav Bickell. It doesn’t have a table of contents that I can see online. I don’t know if he had additional hymns available, or if some of the 77 come from a different collection of his hymns. Do you possess a complete copy of Nisibene Hymn 27? All I see is that one small quote on Catholic blogs. I haven’t been able to find the rest. I like to see the whole section and not just an isolated sentence.
Can you share the rest of it?
