I have currently been devoted to the first Saturday confession meditation on Bible mysteries aswell as praying the rosary.

This may sound a rather odd question and I hope to jot come across as arrogant or prideful but lately I have been trying hard to keep my act together and avoid occasions of Grave sin, of course I am not perfect and may have a few Venial things (but probably I don’t and would have to take a trip down the Scruple highway to stretch them out).

Can someone go to confession without having anything to confess while keeping the first Saturday? Or does my previous confession last week, and an effort to not allow myself to be separated from God and succeeding (for a change) be ok with the conditions of the first Saturday devotion?

Also another question, I have heard of people going to confessing and after making the sign of the cross saying “Our Lady sent me”, so could this be something to do with my first Saturday confession? I’m thinking maybe it’s a way of telling the priest you are there with a contrite heart but have nothing grave to confess but wish to make repetition to our lady etc

Any advice much appreciated as I am newly returned to the Catholic church and much is new to me.

Even if you don’t have any mortal sins to confess you can still talk to the priest about the venial sins you struggles with or you can even do an examination of conscience based on the seven deadly sins to talk him about that.

Absolutely. Venial sins can be confessed, as can past mortal sins that have already been absolved, although you must be clear that you are confessing them devotionally, but they are valid matter for absolution.

As for “our Lady sent me”, it might sound pious, but just stick with the usual: “bless me, Father for I have sinned…” That’s not any customary opening for confession.

All you need is one venial sin in order to make a confession. I presume we all commit at least one venial sin in the course of a week. I know I commit several. Sometimes several each day.

If you are concerned that your confession of one or two venial sins will be misinterpreted as scrupulosity, you can always say, “My last confession was a week ago, but I wanted to confess again for First Saturday devotion.” I have occasionally done this when I just confessed a few days previously. Technically, one could confess every single day (some Popes have done this) but these days when people often don’t confess for months (or years), the priest could think somebody confessing twice in the course of a week is a sign of scrupulosity.

As human. Failings would have it,I messed up and today made a good confession with much to be co trite of heart about.

I just have e one more thing,today I took part in the group Recitation of praying the Rosary. In keeping with the 1st Saturday devotional conditions would this Rosary count or should I do a private Rosary myself?

Usually one person leads one half of each prayer then the congregants taking part collectively recite the second half of each prayer then alternate.
 
Group rosaries where one person leads and others answer meet the conditions for any rosary devotion. The Church likes the idea of people praying it in a group and gives a plenary indulgence for that under the usual conditions.
