Immigration laws separating my family

Thank you all for your advice and prayers! Looking back at my life, I’ve been a very, very blessed man. Our Lord has given me two beautiful children, a great wife, and I’m thankful for that. I will focus on the positive of my situation: My road to citizenship is wide-open, and the path to permanent residency is even more open for my wife and daughter (our 2 year old is a US citizen). I also give thanks to our Heavenly Father that I’m blessed for being able to cross the border twice a week to see my family. I know other families are separated because they can’t cross it. I will focus only on the positive. Those three nights that I won’t spend with my family, we will pray together, do homework, and talk and see each other via the webcam (God bless technology, and this shows how it can be used in a very positive way). I will also go back to school to get my master’s degree, that way, at the same time that I’m improving my professional skills, I will have something else to focus on during those days I will be by myself.

In regards to immigration laws, I respect them, that is why we’re complying, and I trust that the immigration officers will see that I am a person of good moral character, no criminal record whatsoever. I came to the U.S. legally at the age of 11. I am an American at heart, and I trust the Lord will provide me with citizenship in less than two years.

Thank you all again for your prayers and advice!
En Cristo,
Pablo

Not to sound trite - but I"m really proud of you and I have no doubt that your family is too. I’m glad we’ll have you as a citizen of the US!
God Bless

Welcome to america. I’m just a simple factory worker and I enjoy the country. I understand the problems you’re going through seem hard but just keep in mind you have a family that loves you and an education that will make it fairly easy to provide for them. Most people in mans troubled past have been slaves or surfs of some kind. How lucky we are to die of old age! A lot of people have died from unsanatary practeses or starvation. Ill say a quick prayer for you buddy, but you say one for me. I wish I had what you have. How about we both pray for our brothers in africa and india? I think when god spoke of the poor he meant theam. Sorry about the long post and spelling.

God bless you Pablo! I hope things move quicker and smoothly for you and your family! I don’t have any advice about your original question, but I do pray that while you are in the process of becoming a legal citizen, things get streamlined so that good people trying to do things right, like you and your family, are able to come and live together in the US without having your family life disrupted too much.
