I think you should also try to raise these topics with them not as a group, but one by one when it is not an issue. I think that when someone has made a choice to wear something at that point she is less likely to accept anything to the contrary but you can find a way of bringing it up when you are alone so she’s not afraid of what the others will think

Over spring break my niece visited us. She was going out and had a new outfit she bought while here and asked me my opinion.

First I told her it was a beautiful dress but where was the rest of it?

Then after that I told her that the dress accentuated parts of her anatomy that had nothing to do with her smile, her mind or her personality and if she wanted to accentuate things farther down then it was a perfect dress.

She changed and we took the dress back the next day.
