Not ignored…dismissed it as empty words. Anyone can claim those things, but if you have such a strong Marian devotion, why do you refuse to defend the Church that honors her? On this thread the Church has been attacked by those who hate the church and ignore the Blessed Mother. And you defend them. Let’s just say I have a hard time believing you.

Can you produce a Church document that says in the name of ecumenism that Protestants should not be evangelized, or that all Christian faiths possess the fullness of truth? I didn’t think so.

BTW…how do you feel about the Orthodox Church. The Church with no change after the first 7 ecumenical councils. Nothing added or subtracted. Oh…did you know that Benedict and John Paul II left out the filioque when praying the creed in Greek?

I never said they were not brothers in Christ, but I will not accept that Protestantism is equivalent to Catholicism in truth. And I actually CAN produce the documents to support this. It is either time to concede that the Catholic Church ALONE possesses the fullness of truth, or admit that you are not fully loyal to the teachings of the church. THose are your only options. There is no third choice. I am sorry for bing so direct. You probably think that is rude. By your standards, Jesus would have been considered rude too. As well as the Apostles. James, Peter, and Paul all made very direct statements in their epistles, even to the point of using terminology that called the reader’s intellect into question. SOmetimes we need to use a 2 x 4 just to get people’s attention.

I’m a convert to Catholicism from Protestantism, and I think that “it’s better to Catholic” because:

THE EUCHARIST!

and also:

1. It is the oldest and most ancient Church, founded by Christ
2. The Church has all seven Sacraments of Christ, not two
3. I believe Catholic ecclesiology makes much more sense than its Protestant counterpart
4. Catholicism has a robust, consistent moral and philosophical system, more so than Protestantism IMHO
5. There is a certainty of doctrinal truth not found in Protestantism, which cannot appeal to the Church to authoritatively resolve doctrinal/liturgical disagreements
6. There is a great deal of emphasis on continuity with the early Catholic Church of the apostolic and post-apostolic age.
7. Apostolic Succession
8. The Papacy
9. The communion of Saints

There’s more, but that’s a few of my things.
