Impact Vatican II on ecumenical movement

Hi everyone,
I am presently working on a paper at school on Catholic and Pentecostal Dialogue. One of the points I am trying to cover is the impact Vatican II and the decree on Ecumenism had on the modern Ecumenical movement. I am searching for information on the Catholic Church pre-vatican II. For example I know Catholics were forbidden to pray with non-Catholics or attend funerals or other church services but that is the extent I have been able to find.

I am looking for reputable websites, books etc which could be used for a scholarly paper.

I’ve not heard of Catholics being forbidden to pray with non-Catholics, so I have no citation for you. You might try looking in the previous Code of Canon Law (1917) to see if there is something to that effect in there. It’s not online anywhere that I have ever come across, so you’d track it down in a library (and possibly translate the Latin as I’m not sure if there are any English translations).
 
Canon 1258 the 1917 Code of Canon Law:

*It is illicit for the faithful to assist at or participate in any way in non-Catholic religious functions.

For a serious reason requiring, in case of doubt, the Bishop’s approval, passive or merely material presence at non-Catholic funerals, weddings and similar occasions because of holding a civil office or as a courtesy can be tolerated, provided there is no danger of perversion or scandal.*
