When does it become a mortal sin?
Today I asked my Father something and he didn’t hear me. I got a bit annoyed and said it in a sharper tone. While he was trying to figure out what I was saying I found out the answer and harshly said “NO”. I feel quite bad for doing this and it is a problem of mine. But should I receive communion tonight when I go to Mass. Or is this a mortal circumstance that needs Confession?

3 things needed for mortal sin
  1. grave matter
  2. full knowledge of it’s gravity
  3. full consent to commit the act
Although anger, which is driven often by impatience, can be grave matter, it does not sound like that to me in this case. Sounds like you were having a rough day, and lashed out a bit. Reconcile with your dad, and if you still feel nudged spiritually to confess it, by all means go to confession.

yeah man, i think you should receive. Whenever i go to confession, i always say i did not honor my mother and father ( i do not treat them like i should).
 
Being grumpy isn’t necessarily mortally sinful unless you seriously harm someone by it. It doesn’t sound to me like much, if any, harm was done here. Just say sorry to your dad and make up. Everything will be alright.
