Is it a grave matter to look at other people intimate parts even if it’s done not because of lust, but to compare yourself with, for example?

Probably not. Impure essentially means lustful. If it’s not lustful, it’s not impure.

Maybe envious, but not impure.

No just a sign of immaturity and self-doubt. Don’t worry it grows as you grow- maturity, of course.

I would say no. The motive that you describe does not sound like lust which is the likely grave matter in question. Envy could also play a role and the gravity would depend on the level of envy.

However, if it were me, I’d try not to make it a habit of comparing myself to another person. It can cause all kinds of havoc in one’s mind, possibly making one anxious and discouraged. I would only look at another person in that way if it brought me closer to God by doing so. For example, these kinds of things often bring humor. In the past, I have also inadvertently glanced at other’s body parts both male or female and immediately turned my thoughts to God. I generally make a short prayer like, “Gee, God, it’s funny how you made that part look like that” or “hmmm, God you gave that person more of that than me.”😉

From Moral Theology by Rev. Heribert Jone 1953

Section 237.

“c) To look at the indecent parts of a person of the opposite sex is gravely sinful, unless done unexpectedly or superficially or momentarily or from a distance or if it is a question of little children. - In itself it is not very wrong to look at the less decent parts of such persons, unless this is continues for some time -”

I’m assuming you mean of the same sex. I don’t know, but I admit I do compare my bodies with other women. My friends would openly compare too (“Omg my butt is so flat compared to yours”) Obviously there’s no lust, but I’m guessing it’s envy.
