I have recently took lower back pain . I can barely sit for too long . My back has always been weak . Very lazy when it comes to exercise. This probably a stupid question. Would this be a sign from god for me to take action?

Without a doubt. Chronic back and weakness can be a symptom of autoimmune disease in some. Not saying that to freak you out: it’s just something a lot of patients and doctors don’t recognize right away. You definitely want to get that checked out.

Pretty sure God would tell you to go see your doctor and do what he says. If the first doctor is dismissive of your back pain, then seek a second opinion.

If you are “lazy when it comes to exercise”, it is possible that is the problem, or it could be something more specific like a pinched nerve or some type of disease. You need medical advice and pain in general is the mechanism put in your body by God telling you something’s wrong and get medical help.

It’s definitely a sign from your body to see a doctor. What could be the root cause is something beyond the purview of this forum, but pain that can’t be directly tracked back to a known cause should always be evaluated by someone with medical training (and many times, pain with known causes, but for some of those a prudent layman can treat and seek medical care if it gets worse/doesn’t get better).

I pray it’s nothing serious and the docs can help you fix it.
God bless you to get your health back. 🙏

Do you mean “God”? It could be, but the thing is, you’re going to need to start out with exercises that aren’t going to hurt your back severely. It took me forever to start working on my arms, because of my back pain but, by far the most muscular part of me are my legs. If you can, get a low weight dumbbell, I use one that’s 4.5 kg. At least a hundred for each arm, alternating every 50. Remember, you need God with all things, not just this. Your back pain is probably worse than mine, but I have a little sister, who’s had I think five different spinal surgeries, and she is just tough as can be, and I use my little sister who will be 15 at the end of this month, is an example for me to push through the pain. Now, don’t overdo it, that’s never a good idea. Good luck though.

I do think you should consider it a sign from God to take better care of the body He gave you to earn Him profit with (see the parable of the talents, or the 1,5,10 coins).

Part of being a Christian means being the “salt of the earth”, “the light of the world”: This means you should be a role model in all aspects of life, including physical fitness. Christians should not be part of the 2/3 obesity in America.
