First of all the church says something about how much time after mass you should have the ash in your forehead?.

Second in the case the church keeps silence on that, dont u think is a testimony not to get the ash removed thus may ppl know that still Christians on earth?

There is no rule. If the world can’t tell there are Christians without ashes, we have some serious conduct shortcomings to address during Lent. The ashes are a reminder to the sinner who receives them, not a message for the World.

You can keep them as long as you like.

And kudos for not waiting til the last minute to ask this question LOL 😂

Peace!

I get mine at a morning Mass and leave them there all day. Typically until I wash my face before bed.

As a teen I had to remove it right away because I had HORRIBLE acne and it’d get a massive breakout.

Now, if I go at all, I usually wipe my face. I’m just home with kids and freshening up and wiping my face is something I do to stay relitivly clenly.

Best advice I received from a priest:

If you are proud to wear your ashes all day, you should wash them off

If you are uncomfortable wearing your ashes out in public, you should wear them
