Yes, you can fast from anything and offer it to God as a sacrifice. You can offer anything to God as a sacrifice, be it the hardships of your life, or the joys.
Many people associate the word sacrifice with giving something up or doing something they don’t want to do, but sacrifice more accurately means to “make sacred”.
Our entire life and it’s choices, joys, and sufferings can be “made sacred” by consciously choosing to acknowledge them and offer them to God.
If you choose to give up something, whether it is food, or something like social media, it is a fast. When you choose to offer that fast to God, it becomes a sacrifice.
When you end a fast,or even when you are not fasting and just enjoying a moment in life such as time with friends and family, eating a great dessert, celebrating a team victory, or watching a sunrise on a mountain top, etc… all of those moments can be offered as a sacrifice as well.
We should all live our lives in a constant state of prayer, constantly acknowledging our Creator and His role in our lives.
