I know this should be in another part of the forum, but I thought the most non-Christians would read this thread if I posted this thread here. This thread will attempt to explain the Holy Trinity in a way that will not be as easily contested as the water theory (the theory that God changes into three different forms or theories similar to it.) I am not sure if this Holy Trinity explanation is correct and I have never read the Bible from cover to cover; therefore if any learned practicing Catholic, Eastern Orthodox Christian, or any body that has beliefs similar to the Catholic Church’s says this is not true then I will apologize for posting this and I will not bring this up ever again.

The Theory: The very basis of this theory is Genesis chapter 1 verse 26: “God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”” No the word “our” has no importance in this theory.

What did God mean “in our image”, or “after our likeness”
Important note: Many people believe that everybody has a body and an eternal soul
People= body+soul
Wait! There is an extremely important part of this equation missing, the CONSCIOUSNESS!!!
Now our Equation is People= body+soul+consciousness
Some people may ask: Jimmy why is the consciousness so important. Well the consciousness is according to wikipedia:
“Consciousness is a type of mental state, a way of perceiving, particularly the perception of a relationship between self and other.”
Also do not forget that animals also have a consciousness, they are alive, correct? But animals do not have a soul; therefore, the consciousness is an important aspect of human beings.
Back to our equation: People= body+soul+consciousness
Well how many different variables equals a person. One, two, THREE!!! See what one can do with the Bible and a little thinking.
Assuming I understood what God said, correctly then we will take the next step. We will identify each aspect with a Person of the Holy Trinity
God the Father a.k.a. the Father in Heaven (Consciousness)
God the Son a.k.a. Jesus Christ (Body)
God the Holy Spirit a.k.a. the Spirit of the Lord (Spirit)
Now we will refute some common arguments with this new theory
In the Qur’an:

O People of the Book, commit no excesses in your religion; nor say of God anything but the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him; so believe in God and His Messengers. Say not “Trinity”: desist! It will be better for you: for God is One: Glory be to Him! (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs. (Qur’an 4:171)

They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. Why turn they not to Allah, and seek His forgiveness? For Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful. Christ the son of Mary was no more than an apostle; many were the apostles that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! .(Qur’an 5:73-75)

When God says, ‘Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to people, “Take me and my mother as two gods alongside God”?’ he will say, 'May you be exalted! I would never say what I had no right to say - if I had said such a thing You would have known it: You know all that is within me, though I do not know what is within You, You alone have full knowledge of things unseen (Qur’an 5:116)

Sorry Muhammad, but this new theory refutes all three of these Qur’an quotes. Each person in the Holy Trinity is a different individual aspect of one being: GOD!!!
And since did Christians ever worship Mary at all? When was Mary ever part of the Holy Trinity?

More will be discussed in a later post.
good bye for now.

The Quran doesn’t even come close to the Trinity.

1-Nowhere is the Holy Spirit mentioned, yet Mary is mentioned thrice. Why would Allah refute that which we do not believe in yet does not even mention the correct teaching?

2- There is mention of “partners” to God. Nowhere does the Trinity mean that the Word or Spirit of God are partners to God unless Muhammad believes Allah to be Wordless and Spiritless yet Muslims believe Allah has an eternal and uncreated Speech called Quran.

3- Muhammad kept asserting Jesus’ humanity as if it refutes His divinity, by saying “Jesus used to eat food”, as if we don’t know it or as if we don’t believe He is also a human or as if eating food means automatically that He isn’t the Word incarnate with no biological father, something he said (miraculous birth i mean) but did not explain why, or as if eating food excuse is on the level of Christian theology.

If Allah wants to refute and reveal things with the intention of refutation, one would expect a refutation that fits His Wisdom, not a refutation that belittles it.

It is really late where I am at, and I am sleepy, but I will try to answer this thread as best as I can. I am no theologian and I do not have any extensive research in theology, and I am terrible at discerning mysteries, so please excuse my poor answer.

The Trinity is God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is what the Trinity is. But if I could try to explain the Trinity, without in any way attempting to diminish its mysteriousness, it would be this:

God is Being, e.g., He is. He is Existence Itself and Perfection Itself. He is all He is in Himself, and therefore, God alone is God.

As Being, God is One. He is not just One in His Divinity but He is in Himself eternally and absolutely Simple: Everything in Him is One: His Will is His Power, His Power is His Knowledge, His Knowledge is His Will, etc. God is incomprehensively utterly One.

As Being, God has Essense. Essense means “Who God is”. But the Essense of God is unfathomable. All is known is that the Lord is, in His Essense, the Lord. That is to say, God is God.

As Being, God has three Realities. He has three Realities because He is the Most Perfect Being. By “Realities” I mean Persons or Hypostasis. These Realities are distinct from Each Other in their relationship to One Another, and being the Realities of God, they are living Persons, that is, they are each God.

The Persons are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the Father of the Son, the Son is the Son of the Father, and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and the Son.

Being each God, and God being utterly One, the three Persons are in Each Other: The Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father and the Father and the Son is in the Holy Spirit.

The Son is Eternally Begotten of the Father, e.g., the begetting of the Son is an eternal act; the act has no beginning because God has no beginning: In God, there is only ‘is’, for He is Who is.

The Holy Spirit Eternally Proceeds from the Father and the Son, e.g., the procession of the Spirit is an eternal act; it has no beginning because God has no beginning: God is, He is Who is.

The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father to the Son and from the Son to the Father - not going back and forth between Them but simply being, for He is in the Father and the Son.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and the Son in that He is the Love which the Father has for the Son and which the Son has for the Father, and this is so because He is Spirit: A “spirit” is the life of a being, so the Holy Spirit is the Life of God, but since God is Life Itself, He is God, and because there is nothing greater than God, and God is Love Itself, than the Holy Spirit is Love: the Love of the Father and of the Son for Each Other. And since God created heaven and earth, the Spirit is the Love of God - the self-giving of God - for heaven and earth.

The three Persons, being One in Being (God), are Co-equal in everything (Will, Power, Knowledge, Holiness, Justice, Mercy, etc.) and They share the same work (creation, redemption, and sanctification). But being distinct Persons, they do not do the same things:

The Father is the One Who causes all to be
The Son is the One through Whom the Father causes all to be
The Holy Spirit is the One in Whom the Father causes all to be

For example, the Father created man through the Son in the Holy Spirit. The Son, being the Image of God (God from God), is the One in Whom man is made. But God did not make man spiritual; He gave him a body and a soul. This is because the Father did not simply create man after His Image but after Jesus Christ, the Son Incarnate. God, Who is Omniscient, would certainly know Jesus before He was born, and being Omnipotent, He would certainly have the power to create man in Jesus’ Image. And God created man in His Image - in the Image of the Incarnate Son - because He knew (again via Omniscience) that man would fall, he would abuse his free-will, and so, even before He created heaven and earth He planned out man’s salvation: If man would, by his fall, stain the Image of God in himself, than God would, by becoming man, restore it in him, e.g., God became man so that man might become like God.

Some would say that God permitting evil proves God dose not exist, but those who say this don’t know that the Omnipotent God can do every good thing according to His pleasure - being Goodness Itself - and because He can do every good thing, He brings forth out of evil a greater good: a good greater than the evil itself and a good greater than that good which would have been had there been no evil at all. God gave man the gift of free-will, having created him in His Image, and because He dose not take away man’s free-will, He draws forth from man’s fall a much greater good: the redemption of mankind. And this is further seen when one looks at the death of the Son: From the greatest evil imaginable - man killing God - comes the greatest good imaginable: the redemption of man.

EDIT: I just realized someone might wonder what the phrase “consubstantial” might mean. For example, “the Holy Spirit is consubstantial with the Father and the Son”. The term simply means “one in being”. That is, the Holy Spirit is God. Just as the Son is one in being (consubstatial) with the Father, so too the Holy Spirit is one in being with the Father and the Son. It goes back to what I said earlier about the three Persons each being God and being in Each Other.

My problem is ,why Jews spent thousands of years without knowing (by themselves or by their prophets) that God is three persons ??

The Trinity is a mystery, it is not something man can simply know or deduce. God had to reveal it to man, and He did so, in Jesus Christ. God never rushes in His work, though: little by little He works. So how He revealed Himself was not by a rush but little by little. He revealed Himself first to Abraham as God, than to Moses as He Who Is Who He Is (“I Am Who I Am”), than again to Moses as Isreal’s Husband (“a jealous God”), a God who is slow to anger and quick to mercy, and than, through the Prophets He revealed His Son - though not in a dramatic manner but little by little (the Suffering Servant, the Son of Man, etc.), and finally, He fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies and fully revealed Himself - the Most Holy Trinity - in Jesus Christ.

Ah I am sorry I was not trying to do anything wrong I will close down this forum before things get out of hand. I realized my theory was incorrect. Do not ask how I figured it out, let us never speak of this thread again. Amen!!! Praise the Holy Trinity!!!

Problem: Is it possible for me to close this forum since I started this thread. 🤷
