Hello everyone. I know, I said in my other thread I’d stay away for two years, but this question has been bugging me. (1ke - this will be the last of my sneaking around I promise.)🙂

I don’t necessarily want to be a nun or feel the call to be one right now, but my other thread helped me realize that I need to be open to every possible vocation and plan for my life. I read some of the threads here on discernment. A lot of orders/groups say you need to be “in good health”. Some people said they have been turned away due to medical conditions. Would a physical disability or use of a walker NOT be considered as such?

Thanks,

You’d have to ask the order. A stable physical disability can be accommodated. i think that attitude is important also. Using a walker doesn’t sound too promising to me, but if one had used one for years because of an old injury, it might be OK.

If you read, “Each case considered individually”, this, to me, that if you’re interested, you should at least inquire.

Don’t worry, if I do end up on that path, I have used one all my life and I have a “stable” condition that can only remain where it is or get better over time. Thank you very much.

One of my favorite Bible verses is:

“Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.”
