In heaven, will we have the power to be able to create anything out of nothing?

I say this because one of my greatest desires that I want to do in heaven (if I make it there) is to do exactly that. Do you think God will permit anyone with that desire to have that power?

I’m posting this out in the spirit of fun. Heaven isn’t Hogwarts. 😉

Probably not What would you do with that kind of power or ability…recreate that which the Fater has already created and to what end?

So your saying that there is a possibility that we can create “everything” like God can when we’re in heaven?

So I guess we need to be faithful that God knows what’s best for us in the next life that would give us the most joy

Good question. Here on earth, God allows us to cooperate with him in creation.

What would you want to create?

How about a universe with billions of real people who sin and suffer, each with his or her own concerns and needs, who are looking to you for mercy and eternal life? Are you thinking that big?

I doubt it.

I like to think of the people in heaven as more like the elves from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. They have enhanced creative power with product and vision in perfect correspondence, free from all the limitations we have as fallen humans. Plus like the elves in Tolkien’s stories, people in heaven are immortal, free from disease and death and living in a blessed realm.

Creative not in terms of creating out of nothing but in terms of art and science.

I want to learn more about God’s creation.

Like, what is a photon exactly? Are they particles or are they waves?

If you think your post through you have a desire to be God-like or a God entity. My mother always said, “There is only room for one cook in the kitchen.” Someone else wished to be God-like and share the 'power. He got booted out of heaven and still wants power. You know WHO that was. Now me - all I want is a large chocolate milkshake with a squirt of syrup on top. Knowing that I can not have what I want I am content with what I have been given as in whatever graces and blessings I can garner.

Well, of course, there is. I made my reply as simply as I could for the benefit of the reader. I think the org, poster is fairly young yet and hasn’t earned his Ph.D. in theology yet.

The main point of my post is that I seek understanding. Knowing God and knowing His creation are not mutually exclusive.

Nowhere did I say I was going to ignore God.

I don’t understand why you think this is what I implied.

I prefer to ask the one who actually knows the answers than the one who thinks he knows the answers.

What! Doesn’t Sheldon know all the answers? Well, I guess I can’t rely on Sheldon anymore. I sort of suspected that!
