Hi,
I ask you all kindly for your prayers. Firstly, I ask you to pray that none of my family members, friends, or co-workers come down with COVID-19. I am experiencing much anxiety during this time worrying if any of them will catch it. There is one good friend I am particularly concerned about because she smokes cigarettes. I’m worried how she’d fare if she caught the virus. If something happened to her or my parents, it would shatter me into a million pieces. So PLEASE pray that doesn’t happen, and that my friend and everyone else in my life stay safe.
I also ask you to please take the time to pray for me. I am suffering from both depression and anxiety during these stressful times - though unlike many who are depressed, I am not so much lamenting my own situation as I am the current state of life collectively. I have been very blessed thus far - I still have a job that I love and my job security is pretty solid. I also do not know anyone personally who has fallen ill with the virus thus far. Still, I DO know people who have lost loved ones to the virus, and that, combined with the negative affects of the isolation I’m experiencing from social distancing, has caused me to suffer from situational depression (this is not the first time I have dealt with depression, but this depression feels particularly bad compared to previous episodes I’ve suffered thru).
I’m not going to lie: I am currently in no danger of harming myself, but there have been days during this when I have suffered from suicidal thoughts. I will not act on them because I know better and am fully aware of the Church’s teachings on the matter. I’m not entirely sure why I’m experiencing such thoughts. But I need your prayers. I’m hurting emotionally, largely because my heart breaks for the people I know who have been impacted by this in some way (lost job, lost a loved one, etc.). Being separated from everyone also deeply hurts.
Please pray, thank you.
