Hello everyone,

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here. Today, I went to the doctor for my first prenatal visit for my second pregnancy (our son is 13 months old). The doctor did a vaginal ultrasound since I’m 7 weeks pregnant and believes I might have conjoined twins. She referred me to another specialist who can do a better exam to determine if they actually are conjoined, and I’ll be going within the next week or two, but I am so scared right now. First, the doctor informed me the survival rate of conjoined twins is 25% but she also said my own life could be at risk. I am just terrified and in need of lots of prayers.
Praying for you!!!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and, most of all, your prayers!!! God is Good and has taken good care of my unborn baby! After ten doctors examined my ultrasound (they wanted to make sure about the findings before telling us) they all concluded I am carrying ONE healthy baby, not two and certainly not conjoined twins! Apparently, my ob mistakenly thought she heard two heartbeats while seeing only one fetus on the monitor.

The day before we went for that ultrasound, my family and I went to Mass and all I could think of was Jesus’ prayer at the Mount of Olives, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done.” This Cross was a blessing in disguise for my husband and I, though, as it has brought us closer to God. Now, all we can think about and pray for are those families who do find out they do have conjoined twins. What courage and strentgth they need to endure such a trial and to choose life! Before I knew the truth, my doctor actually suggested I have an abortion if I was carrying conjoined twins! We must continue to pray for all families and the unborn everywhere. God bless you all and thanks again!

Huzzah! Huzzah!
I join in prayer with you, for all of those people going through difficult pregnancies.
Grapes aren’t sour for you anymore!!!🙂

Hi I am praying for you and your family.

Just remember that God has a plan for us all and God only wants what is best.

Even though it is a LOT easier said than done you have to try and relax and do not think of them as conjoined or not, think of them as two gifts which the Lord has given you and rememeber the unconditional love you have for them and it will all be ok.

The doctor could be wrong as like you say it is very early and science is a weird thing that tries to predict things (and even tries to act like God in certain situations) but it isn’t always right.
Having said that, science is improving all the time as I believe God is allowing us to find new cures for things for a reason and that you never know, if your twins are conjoined, they could be in the 25% who survive as someone has to.

Just try to keep calm and strong and I am sure God will look after you and your family

take care
