Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask for prayers… Nothing “serious,” but I am a little bit discouraged and down and I need to stand straight and keep going, and prayers will help. I’m a single mom in my 40’s with a marriage annulment and a beautiful 2-year-old girl (yes, I became a mom late in life). I feel lonely and sometimes the journey is tough, despite having a great companionship in my daughter. I am not desperate to find someone, but sometimes I wish God had someone in His plans for me and introduced him in my life soon…
Sometimes I feel like I cannot do this by myself but also I do not want a man just to solve my problems. Does it make sense? I am happy the way I am but sometimes I feel like what I have been longing for would come true–a Catholic man who accepts me and my daughter as a package deal 🙂 and that makes us grow as a family… I long for stability and coming home to a traditional family. I long for being accepted in the Catholic church without any “PC” statements… Sigh.
Of course this is just a summary of my story… Prayers would be greatly appreciated. Whatever God has in His plans for me, let me accept it and be happy with it and follow the right path. Amen.
Thanks.

Praying for you. I know what you’re going through. Even though I be a bit crabby at times. 😉 Are you staying at home with the two-year-old to raise her? Take care of yourself and don’t be afraid to reach out in friendship, look for ways to meet people. A mom’s rosary group, bible study, or various other interest groups might help you to branch out, develop interests and new friendships and adjust to a new life. Friends don’t always have to be Catholic if you feel like you’re not fitting into that social niche anymore. But they do need to be positive and good for you. Make sure you are able to get a babysitter so you can have some down time for yourself.

Offertory verse (Ps 68: 21) for the Mass of the Feast of the Sacred Heart: My heart had expected reproach and misery. And I looked for one that would grieve together with me, and there was none: and I sought one that would console me, and I found none. 78

Mother Teresa responds, “Be the one.” Be the one to console Jesus by satiating his burning thirst for love. She writes: Tell Jesus, “I will be the one.” I will comfort, encourage and love Him. … Be with Jesus.

Thanks. Ah… I have tried and keep trying. Friends are not real friends or it’s impossible to find a support network. Also, unfortunately it’s"easier" to find more support and warmth in other Faith/religions since they seem to be more welcome and open (but I still would love to fit better in the Catholic church). Also,I work full time… I need it to take care of my daughter…
Thanks so much for the encouragement, Daisy; I appreciate it a lot.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

I pray for blessings for this mother, that she would feel Our Lord’s love and kindness for her, and know she is not alone. Give her your comfort. Help her to find supportive friends in the church.
Bless and keep her and her daughter.
Amen.

Thanks.
Amen. To be willing to accept God’s will even when it is not what we want, the Saints tell us, is the best place for us to be.

Praying for you and your daughter.

Not sure what ‘PC’ is.

A really traditional family would involve you not having to come home at all, but already being at home raising your children, while the man went out to bring home the bacon. 🙂 After all going to work means influencing very little, usually specializing in some small area or another. Whereas a stay at home mom is a generalist influencing a great deal of a young person’s formation.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Tresp in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Thanks, @fisherman_carl
I really meant having that father/husband figure in the house, basically… Right now I work full time while I still try to influence my daughter and be present for her as much as I can. Hard, but I try.
Thanks again. 🙂

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For your family…be at peace in the Lord!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…
