In the Eucharist is it Jesus alive or dead?

I don’t really know how to say this… What got me thinking of this was the image of Jesus as Paschal Lamb. The Lamb was dead when the Jews ate, so is the Eucharist Christ’s dead body when we eat? I feel like I should know this. The Eucharist is so adored that my natural feeling is to treat it as if alive and powerful. But yet, the sacrifice was Jesus dead on the cross. I can’t believe that I’m so confused on something so essential.😊

Hi,

Your problem is that you are forgetting that Jesus has a human AND a divine nature. Only His human nature could die and in fact did. At His resurrection even His human nature came back to life. So any way you look at it, the Eucharist is the body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, our living God.
