In the event that someone has not been to confession for decades, where would that person start with the confession?

With the start of the Jubilee of Mercy, some people who have not been to confession for a very long time are contemplating doing so. Should sins be confessed categorically? What if there are sins with complex issues - such as remarriage? Is it unfair to the priest to show up with decades worth of sins to confess? Is it unfair to the people waiting to confess?
