In what way(s) are you "retro?"

I still use carbon paper, actually, but only under very specific circumstances.

Since most of the world has moved on from this technology, it surprises me how expensive it’s gotten. Not that it’s going to break the bank, but it sure cost a lot less back in the day :older_woman:t2:

Indeed, but I was opining about the double whammy of inflation and the loss of economies of scale. The price seems to have risen disproportionately to the rate of inflation. Sorry to be unclear 😬

You were perfectly clear. I was just being silly. It is my nature. Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. Sorry.

Speaking of warranties…
I picked up a self-propelled (think rotary push mower) from Sears and headed home to keep my lawn under control. Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call from Sears, asking me if i would like to purchase a insurance for my mower. Surprised, I inquired as to the purpose of such a policy.
Well, it will guarantee your engine and cover repairs if there are any problems, was the response.
I told the lady that I was the engine and if I quit working, I would not be worrying about my mower. (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
I think mowers, with human engines, just might qualify as retro.

the reality is that most of those "insurance’ packages are legal scams. There is always a reason that they will not honor them, I never fool with them.
