In writing a Catholic book, can the box for the books be a tabernacle?

I’m writing a catholic series of books and had the thought to have a little wooden golden tabernacle for the box to put the books in. The outer binding of the books when put together will be probably the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Would this be disrespectful to do this?

Hi Cindy,

The tabernacle is for housing the Blessed Sacrament—not books. I don’t think it would be disrespectful, but it could be confusing. We don’t want children to think that we keep books in the tabernacle.
