Incarnation of God

You are absolutely right- I don’t understand the mystery of the Trinity and the Incarnation. But then, aren’t we all in this position- struggling to construct the best theological metaphors to express the mystery of the love of Jesus?

Not completely. Some things are made known by Christ’s abundance grace through divine revelation. This, of course, is not anything for which any man can boast, as no man has attained this understanding without such grace. God is not a God of confusion but of order and the everlasting life is to know God, and to know his Son. We cannot truly know what we cannot understand; thus, it is the will of Our Lord that we be able to know him. For that reason, though some things are inaccessible to human reason alone, those truly faithful seekers are given access through the grace of God, so that the scripture might be fulfilled which says, “Those who seek God understand all things.”

Hi. We have many good models for understanding the holy trinity. But how about incarnation?

Please give me some good models for understnading the incarnation. How Lord Jesus is incarnation of God?

Excellent question my friend! Please consider the following conceptualization. Also, please note that this is the first time for me to write on this subject.

Consider the production of a wrestling entertainment match (you could also use a movie):

1. A script is presented with a simple concept: An underdog will triumph over the Champ.
2. The script is developed based on the unique talents of each wrestler.
3. Then the script is made “flesh.”

Therefore, each wrestler knew what all was to happen, but in order to fulfill the script, each wrestler’s free will was respected in the development of the script.
Now in order to fulfill the script made “flesh,” each wrestler must assume his/her status in the match and act accordingly. And during the match, they will genuinely feel the fatigue, emotion, and pain from acting accordingly.

In the case with Jesus Christ, we could substitute “humanness/not acting in accordance with Love” for “underdog” and “Godliness/Perfectly loving” for “Champ.”

Keep in mind, Jesus Christ is perfect love, which is patience and kindness, even in the face of unjust impatience and meanness. Since He wants others to freely choose to love as He loves and the only way to demonstrate the depths of patience and kindness, He had to be crucified to reveal the Incredible depths of Perfect Patience and Kindness. He knew that if He remained perfectly patient and kind, there would have never been any reason to crucify Him. Therefore, He would have never had the opportunity to demonstrate the true depths of patience and kindness. So He knew He had to act outside of love in order to be put through.

Therefore it can be recognized that Jesus is Fully God, but in developing the Word, He assumed a human nature, then fulfilled the Word by becoming fully human and genuinely feeling, thinking, and experiencing all of those events.
