Are there any good stores that supply incense and thuribles at a low price.
That accept PayPal?

follow up question (i think this does not need a new thread):

how do you use incense in private prayers? do we ‘sway’ the thurible do just like what the priest do in the mass?

It’s all according to what kind of thurible you have. Yes, you can sway it is you have one with a string. We can incense our icons, also. Some people have one with a sort of “handle” on it. You just use the handle instead of strings. I hope I helped.

Using it in prayer is very symbolic, as your prayer does rise like incense. Keep it nest to you when you are praying. :signofcross: :byzsoc:

Thanks for the info!

But what charcoal should I use? Can I just buy any charcoal at a local store, then place the powdered incense or should I also have the charcoal blessed?

Any charcoal will do but “self starting” is much easier to deal with. Be aware, though, that the quality can differ: some “self-starting” coals light easily while others don’t. Coals usually come in foil-wrapped rolls and are generally inexpensive, so a little trial-and-error won’t set you back a fortune.

I’ve never heard of the charcoal used to burn incense requiring any kind of blessing…
