Is it wrong to burn Church incense in your room while praying? because I have been thinking of buying some because it helps me focus on God while I am praying. Thanks God Bless! šŸ™‚

Nope. It’s fine.
Many churches offer blessed incense for their members to take home.

There is some scripture passages that mention that incense is sacred to the Lord and not to be done by any laymen. Has this part of the law been abolished?

That the children of Israel might have for the time to come wherewith they should be admonished, that no stranger or any one that is not of seed of Aaron should come near to offer incense to the Lord, lest he should suffer as Core suffered, and all his congregation, according as the Lord spoke to Moses.

Is it only for the clergy?

In private prayer, anyone can use incense. In public prayer, one must obey the proper liturgical books, so at that point only clergy will likely be using incense.

No only is it allowed, its also encouraged by the churches top exorsists!

If your looking for some scents, try Frankincense incence, or Gloria brand! :highprayer:

I’ve heard that Prinknash Abbey makes some fine incense. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to sample any.

I love incense and have a ton of it. Alot I have bought at a store that sell alot of like new age and pagan paraphenalia.

I. myself have never the chance to yet sample any of the Prinknash Abbey incense…such a shame. I have heard great praises of them!

I would imagine it is an uphill climb to say that it would be wrong to burn incense when praying.

I have no idea why it would be wrong. I simply prefer the scent of incense to those scented candles as well, so for me it’s not just a religious exercise.

I can’t wait to get my own place so that I can burn incense. It just smells so good. It also amazes me to sit there and watch how the smoke moves and rises (its not for naught that it was used as a comparison for our prayers)

It’s only ā€œwrongā€ if you or someone in your house is allergic to or intolerant of the smoke. 😃 I tried burning incense at home, and one of my cats was allergic to it. The poor beast coughed and wheezed until I opened the windows and aired out the house! :o

Yeah šŸ˜› Be careful, especially of the elderly, we don’t want to heart anyone!

I have those ā€˜cheap’ incense sticks that some hindi/Bhuddist people use. Can I pray with those?

Certainly, just remove them from the box and throw out the box, best not having any pictures of idolatry or anything different from Jesus in the house. Then go down to your local priest after doing that and have him bless them.
