I know some saints are and some are not…
my question is, what exactly is the signifigance or excitement when one is incorrubtibe…what is the special thing about a saint being incorruptible? Thans so much. Cause I recently got these amazing photos of Padre Pio…it was awesome to see.

peace

Well these are miracles and like all miracles, they are for us.

They affirm our faith, and give glory to God.

Do you happen to have a link to pics of Padre Pio’s incorrupt body?

Jim

absolutely…they were sent to me as images to my email. I don’t really know how to put them on to here so bear with me and I will ask my husband. Check back later on…they really are so cool to see…very humbling

The images are too big to put on here. Do you have an email that you would care to give me in a PM and then I will send them to you like that?? Just let me know.

peace

Well, it’s special because it’s not the usual course of things. It’s really a visible sign of God’s favour. But I must stress that the inverse is not true; those whose bodies have decomposed normally are not necessarily less favoured than those whose bodies are incorrupt.
Also, just as a note, I would describe them as “incorrupt” as opposed to “incorruptible”, since incorruptible implies that they will never decompose or be destroyed (have you read Joan Carroll Cruz’s book, “The Incorruptibles”? Several formerly incorrupt saints have decomposed somewhat), and incorrupt refers only to the present.
