Argentina I think was somewhat Socilistic during Perons reign. But from what I have heard there is a very sharp divide between the rich and the poor. It is very common for beggars, especially children, to be wandering the streets homeless, while the rich live in mansions. I think that’s one of the reason Pope Francis is against capitalism as he believes it’s the same everywhere while the real fault lies in the corrupted leadership in these countries. He may not be Matcist but Marxism has always got much sympathy from the people in these circumstances. Latin American countries have always been swayed by this. First it was Cuba, and now Venezuala. It’s a shame that the Pope uses sweeping generalities toward capitalism. I realize that capitalism in some instances can be evil. But here for example in St. Patrick’s Cathedral working men and women living under capitalism have ciontributed to its ornate beauty, contribute to our churches and charities, the poor and lastly the Vatican.Argentina was not a “Community nation.” Peron didn’t come to power in Argentina until 1946 when Pope Francis was about 10 and he was not a Communist.
