EXACTLY. I can totally understand having issues with the Pope; the teaching on the gay lifestlye is hard to accept, and people have their own opinions. But to show disrespect like this? Classless.
You actually expected class from this group???

:rolleyes::D:shrug:

Of course. Gays are chidren of God, just children of God who happen to suffer from same sex attraction.

Obviously these are people succumbing to their temptations but I succumb to various temptations all the time too. I’m still expected to show common courtesy. 🤷

I found their website, they called themselves queer kissing flash mob. This is from their instructions (my translation). The last line is neat.

*Dear queer kissers … We repeat that this is a peaceful protest the value of which must lie only in the kisses and EXCLUDES slogans, yelling, insults, banners, flags and anything intended to provoke physical or verbal abuse. Therefore, anyone not adhering to the above are on their own.

YES WE CAN! YES WE KISS!*
That’s kinda funny.

👍

I’m praying for these people…those who choose a life of celibacy live very difficult lives. Fr. Benedict Groeschel once said homosexuals who live chastely are some of the holiest people he has ever met. Isn’t that something to think about. 🙂

Prayers for our German Shepherd. Vivat Papa!

Created in God’s image doesn’t equate with “children of God.” THAT term is reserved for those who are in Christ.

Um, there are garden-variety temptations, and then there are perversions, which Scripture calls abominations. Huge difference.

This. 👍

No, you’re wrong. EVERYONE is a child of God. How can you sit there and say that certain people are not children of God, when that is in direct contrast to Church teachings. You’re trying to say that some people are better then others. That’s not true. We are all sinners. We are all equal.

**Are you aware of the fact that when that part of Scripture was written; abomination only meant unclean. It did not have the extreme negative conotation that it does today.

It should also be noted that eating shellfish and even wearing two different types of cloth were both abominations. 👍**

Huh? But isn’t the book that forbid shrimp the one we get an eye for an eye and all the other good stuff that allows us to override what Jesus taught about loving our neighbor , does that mean we can’t rely on Lev. to guide our lives?

Peace

Whatever. They’re Humans. Loved by God. Just like everybody else.

Right, I’m an abomination, because I struggle with masturbation, ALSO a mortal sin.

You’re now calling homosexuals abominations?

If I were a homosexual I’d leave the Church too in the face of such incredible lack of charity. I mean really, it’s a mortal sin and an abominable temptation, but why don’t you call everybody who commits a mortal sin an abomination? Then maybe I’ll agree with you.

I mean, imagine being a little child.

“Son, you can’t be gay. Turn straight.”

“But-but I can’t help it.”

“Sorry son, but the Bible says you’re an abominaton.”

…Is that really how we’re supposed to help these people overcome their temptation?

…And on top of all this, I still expect people who struggle with sin, even mortal sin, to show common courtesy.

Correct, but the New testament speaks of sodomy and lieing with men as sins as well. (Lieing looks like it’s spelled wrong but whatever).

This…sickens me. Not even the action itself really, but the incredible disrespect shown towards this man is disgusting. I understand having your reasons to disagree with the Church on the issue of gay marriage, but this man is the Pope! Show some respect. This is a classless display by these people, done only to inflame Catholics. How is this supposed to help their cause?

And the comments below the article! How sickening.

the sodomites did the same thing to a Catholic Church not to long ago. Except I think the bishop was visiting and they had a protest outside where they all kissed each other.

Its typical sodomite actions. They’ve desecrated the eucharist in San Francisco. In my opinion people who try to incite such actions should be burned at the stake like they were in the old days. The Church didn’t put up with this back then. Why should it now??

During the times of the early fathers people who committed fornication were to do public penance in front of the Church for around 2 weeks.

Wow. That is absolutely disgusting!

‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 'Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
(Mat 5:10-12 NRSV-CE)

Remember the word that I said to you, “Servants are not greater than their master.” If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. It was to fulfil the word that is written in their law, “They hated me without a cause.” 'When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.
(Joh 15:20-27 NRSV-CE)

We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honour, but we in disrepute. To the present hour we are hungry and thirsty, we are poorly clothed and beaten and homeless, and we grow weary from the work of our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we speak kindly. We have become like the rubbish of the world, the dregs of all things, to this very day. I am not writing this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. I appeal to you, then, be imitators of me.
(1Co 4:10-16 NRSV-CE)

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies. For while we live, we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be made visible in our mortal flesh.
(2Co 4:8-11 NRSV-CE)

Now you have observed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions, and my suffering the things that happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
(2Ti 3:10-12 NRSV-CE)

And what more should I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets-- who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, refusing to accept release, in order to obtain a better resurrection. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned to death, they were sawn in two, they were killed by the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, persecuted, tormented-- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. Yet all these, though they were commended for their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better so that they would not, without us, be made perfect.
(Heb 11:32-40 NRSV-CE)

whats interesting is that God in the OT prescribes death for such an action as this. In the NT it says they will receive the due recompense of their penalty. This shows the severity of it. Can you image if they did this in front of Moses or Elijah!

I certainly couldn’t imagine! They’d probably have fire from Heaven called down upon them, be stoned to death, or both!

Yikes, if you seriously think burning at the stake for anyone asking others to kiss represents anything like the teaching of the Church  then that alone would explain why it is losing ground here (see post #14).

But I’ll take a wild guess that every Catholic in Spain would protest against that idea. Don’t know about your neck of the woods, but in Spain Catholics are Christians.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold up…You did not just say…
In my opinion people who try to incite such actions should be burned at the stake like they were in the old days.
…Did you?

I’m sorry, but are you INSANE?

How can you possily believe that Jesus would want us to combat disrespectful kissing with a slow, torturous murder?

How on Earth does this make sense?

OK first of all it is NOT typical gay male actions! I’m gay and Catholic as is my boyfriend and we would NEVER even think of doing anything remotely disrespectful. NOR would ANY of our other gay friends. Catholic or not.

That was not the action of a typical gay man. It was the actions of people who hate the Catholic Church, who also happen to be gay. BIG difference.

I never heard of any group of gay people desecrating the Eucharist. Link???

NOW you say “In my opinion people who try to incite such actions should be burned at the stake like they were in the old days.”
Well. let me just say this…you are sick!! The Pope didn’t even react and you sit there calling for a mass killing!! How can you sit there and say that people should be MURDERED in a horrific fashion because they kissed someone!!! Is that what Jesus would want!?!? People murdered in His name!?!? How about the Blessed Mother!?!?

:mad::mad::mad:

WHAT KIND OF CATHOLIC ARE YOU!?!?!?
