On the first and last days of the Year for Priests, on the 150th anniversary of the death of St. John Vianney, on the first Thursdays of the month, or on any other day established by your local ordinary:

Attend Mass
Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation
Pray for priests
Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father

Tomorrow also - it’s the first Thursday of the month.

We had a bit of a rude suprise for today–our Pastor went into the hospital for kidney surgery! We prayed as soon as we heard and of course went to Mass to offer extra prayers for his health. I suppose in the Year for Priests, if you had to have major surgery, today was the best day! Please remember him in your prayers.

Tomorrow (Thursday) we have another opportunity to receive the indulgence–every first Thursday this year. It is also the Feast of the Transfiguration, so another wonderful reason to make the effort to get to daily Mass.
