Certain indulgences can be plenary if we are so graced as to fulfill the normal conditions (freedom from attachment to sin being usually the most difficult).

Some are attached to certain days. Like, you receive a plenary indulgence on this day because you are a member of this Order or Confraternity. And yet, there is no work to be done.

Is it simply the other requirements to be fulfilled? That you ought to confess within some number of days, receive Holy Communion, remain free from attachment to sin, and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father? Once completing those, the indulgence has been “participated” in sufficiently, without any additional work?

If this is correct, just give me a nod. If it’s wrong, correct me.

Yup, you’re right. Meet the usual conditions.

As far as being part of a confraternity, per your example, you must be participating in it as far as your role goes…for example, the Rosary Confraternity you have obligations to meet such as a weekly rosary, etc.
