Infaluability is it really that hard to believe?

O.k, I want to know is it really that hard to believe that Christ left a visible office of infallible authority over the Church in his physical absence.

I mean if one excepts that the Bible is the word of God (OT & NT) doesn’t that mean that one has to believe that dozens upon dozens of infallible people over the course of the past 4,000 or so years?

The word of God is truly without error, but it needs someone to infallibly proclaim it, as the meaning is what is most important. Everyone knows what the Bible says, but people disagree as to what it means.

If the authentic meaning cannot be handed down infallibly, what good is it?

(I think the correct spelling is “Infallibility”.)

I think most people do believe in Infallibility. But they just don’t believe the Pope has it as the Catholics believe.

:twocents: I think Protestants believe that the Holy Spirit leads their personal interpretation of the Scripture to be infallible.

:twocents: I think the Orthodox believe that their ecumenical council is infallible.

:twocents: I think Muslims believe that their beloved messenger and the Qur’an are infallible.

I not sure what the Jews believe.
