Yes. Baptist faith says baptism is not needed for salvation. Baptism does not save us. Faith alone. And I believed it until a few years ago

my daughter is having her baby baptized several weeks before and I’m hoping to use the occasion to talk about the differnces.

I see this as an exceptional approach. Maybe it will be a ongoing conversation between your daughter and son and their spouses. Just keep praying for your son and daughter-in-law. He know the truth and I expect it will be a struggle for him. The truth has not been revealed to your daughter-in-law yet - that is up to the Holy Spirit. I’ll pray for you all.
