infant jesus statue at home and problems

i have been bombarded by problems since the day that i instated the Infant Jesus status at home… the very next day i heard bad news from my job and it has just been downhill from there… everyday it is something new or i am worrying about something that happened … has anyone else had this experience? i got the statue home becos i had done a prayer to the infant jesus and promised to do it once fulfilled…

i dont understand why this is happening?

please help with suggestions/opinions

Have any of the ‘bad’ things been ‘spiritually-bad’ ? Probably not. You have to learn to discern the difference. We enthroned the Holy Family in our home, and had many ‘secular’ difficulties while trying to live a consecrated family life in our home, but the spiritual blessings abounded.👍
 
While I’m one for looking at spiritual battles I’m inclined to believe this isn’t one, but a propensity of people to jump to conclusions. The devil is likely playing on the initial faulty connection of statue and bad news at work to create undue anxiety.
Also, anxity works on a sliding scale. After receiving bad news we are prone to over-exagerating our other problems. Lets say you were lazy over the weekend and you go to your job on Monday needing to get groceries and find out that your hours are going to be cut, Monday night when you look at your cupboard you don’t “see” that you need groceries you worry you’re going to starve…when you still have the exact same amount of money in your account. In the same way when the knob to the radio breaks or your dog starts to limp (even though he’s 10 years old) you start to panic because the initial bad news disturbed your level of security.
 
Not statues but I’ve had problems with certain clothes being bad luck. :confused:

thank you! this made a lot of sense… u r right… the bad things have not been spiritually bad… in fact i have actually started being able to forgive my ex for all the bad stuff and feel like the Lord is bringing that to me… i just need to focus and ensure that i am not blowing this all out of proportion.
 
You say you bought the statue because you promised to do so in answer to a prayer… is that the ONLY reason you got the statue? Have you neglected further devotion or petition to the Infant Jesus now that the “contract” has been fulfilled?

If so, perhaps He’s telling you, “I’m here, you brought Me here, don’t forget Me! Turn to Me!”

He’s our family’s patron and I will offer prayers to Him tonight for you! God bless!
 
I will be praying. I also don’t think that it is likely that you are being spiritually persecuted since you say that the probalsm haven’t been spiritual in nature.

Job worries do color everything because it can be very bad news. With the economy and job market the way it is, your worry is understandable. However, that doesn’t mean that you will be starving and homeless! Please rest in Jesus’ arms. Hold onto the Infant and love him. Even though your statue shows Jesus as a baby, he is the ruler of the universe and you can trust him with all your worries and bad news.
 
If it were me, I’d choose the Divine Infant as my special Protector to get me through these unforeseen difficulties.

i have always considered HIM as my special protector… HE has always answered my prayers… i think i need to pray to HIM more though.

This is your mind connecting an event (getting the statue) with another event. You are associating the two when there is no real connection. Just because the events coincide, doesn’t mean one caused the other. I think everyone does this to some extent, especially when bad things happen in life; we like to make it make sense so we attach a cause to it. But luck, etc. is superstition and something to be wary of.

Of course I’ve had times in my life where lots of unpleasant things have happened to me within a short period of time - we most all do! To believe that these are related to the wearing of certain clothes or whatnot is ridiculous and superstitious and unworthy of a Catholic.

Now it’s easy to see how some people make such connections. We always try to look for patterns or sequences when we’re trying to understand something - such as a string of unfortunate events.

I know, although I have plenty of clothes in my closet, that there are certain things I tend to wear time and again, most of us have these favourite items of clothing that we put on high rotation. So chances are if I’m in one of those times where a lot of bad stuff is happening I will coincidentally be wearing particular clothes frequently as well.

But it’s just that - pure dumb coincidence. There is not really any causal link between the clothes and the events. It doesn’t mean that if I get rid of the clothes things will change, for example. It’s beyond silly to think in such a way.
