My nephew, Tyler, not yet four months old is in critical condition. A virus has attacked his heart and he is in need of surgery as soon as possible. Pray for his full recovery. Pray too that his mother will remember to have him baptized immediately. (She was raised a Catholic but married a Baptist so none of her three children have yet been baptized.)

Poor little mite! I am praying for him, and that he is baptised as soon as possible.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I am praying for this baby, that he may be gently held in the loving palm of the Heavenly Father and heal completely, and that Mary embrace his parents and make them feel her loving intercession.

I also pray that someone around him know that anyone can baptize the baby in case of emergency and does so if necessary.

I have prayed for Tyler, and his family so that they may feel the need for Baptism.

God Bless,

Praying very hard for a complete recovery for Tyler. God help him!

Thank you for the prayers. Tyler needs to build up his strength and gain some weight before the doctors will operate. It appears the virus was a blessing in disguise because it brought him to the attention of specialists who diagnosed a congenital heart defect which had been missed at birth.

The sad news is his mother has adamantly refused the suggestion to baptize him. Poor girl doesn’t know what she is saying. Even so, we have to respect her wishes and continue in prayer. Someone suggested hastily doing it while the mother isn’t present but that doesn’t seem right either. What do you feel would be the best course of action?

Ouch. I understand what that person is trying to accomplish, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to baptize the little mite against the mother’s will … the soul of both mother and baby are important, and this just might strengthen her resolve to NOT get him baptized. Be patient, pray, and be a shining example of why to be Catholic, dear … in the state she’s in, it’ll get through to her eventually!

I had a nephew whose mother refused to babtise him. My SIL did it when the mother wasn’t around. My nephew eventually commited suicide at age 25. To this day the mother doesn’t know that he was babtised. I for one am glad he was babtised.

Tyler has been sent home with his mother who has learned how to use a feeding tube every three hours day and night.

Thank you for your prayers as the family awaits his surgery some time in March.
