What is the difference between praying to the Infant of Prague and Jesus as we usually depict Him? If I remember correctly St Therese of Lisieux had a devotion to the infant of Prague. So what is the difference?
Thanks everyone!

The example of the Christ Child is the mystery of Incarnation.

Christ was not only fully human, but a dependent child. To come to us as a child demonstrates humility, confidence, and innocence that we would do well to imitate. We are subject to earthly things, the need for shelter, etc. but not at the expense of our sould. We are subject to our institutions; the Church, the state, the family.

We venerate the statue as the Magi worshiped the Christ child: with t the finest we can bring. There is a twofold reason: first, to venerate Christ and his childhood among us. Second, that we may see and honor Christ in others and always present our best to our bretheren.

I could go on and on. The lessons of the Incarnation teach perfect trust without naivety. I have a special devotion to the Precious Lil’ Guy.

I’m looking for a quote from Padre Pio I read last, week thatu sms up this devotion better than I can…

O Jesus, Who has said, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened,” through the intercession of Mary, Your Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted.

(Make your request)

O Jesus, Who has said, “All that you ask of the Father in My Name, He will grant you,” through the intercession of Mary Your Most Holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask your Father in your name that my prayer will be granted.

O Jesus, Who has said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but My word shall not pass away,” through the intercession of Mary Your Most Holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Divine Infant Jesus, I know You love me and would never leave me. I thank You for Your close Presence in my life.

Miraculous Infant, I believe in Your promise of peace, blessings, and freedom from want. I place every need and care in Your hands.

Lord Jesus, may I always trust in Your generous mercy and love. I want to honor and praise You, now and forever. Amen.

Humility?

I know there is a nine hour novena to the Infant Jesus of Prague.
How do you pray a nine hour novena? I’ve prayed novenas over the course of nine days, but I’ve never heard of a nine hour novena.

Once an hour for nine hours.

Just like a regular novena, don’t stress if you are late or forget…just pick up where you left off.

I always start over if I’m late! I’m NOT supposed to start over? That’s relieving. Thanks!

I prayed the Divine Mercy novena of chaplets over nine hours once, it was lovely, it consumes your day but in a nice way.

You feel flooded with Grace.
