Anything that retards the healthy development of maturity by attachment to infantile behavior for self-gratification is unwholesome. We are hardly likely to develop the full potential of the gift of our lives, and the command to love God above all and others with practical charity, if we remain trapped in infantile desire to act as helpless babies.
