It appears to line up with official Catholic doctrine even though the CCC may have softened that view some.

Thanks for the help and comments,

🙂
The CCC teaches official Catholic doctrine.

I am very sad the woman lost her baby! Terrible!

I have an infant that I’m not permitted to baptize until the adoption is finalized. I’ve had her since she was 2 months & she’s now a year old, but the adoption isn’t expected to be finalized until another 2 1/2 months or so. If she were to die before then, I would have hope in the abundant Mercy of God.

A baptized infant is an initiated Christian and is completely pure as they are unable to sin, so we can know they will go to heaven.

An unbaptised baby, like mine, is pure from her own personal sins but may have the stain of original sin and so after death salvation can’t be absolutely certain, but it can be hoped for - just like our (adults) salvation isn’t certain, but can be hoped for.

No one should ever forget that God loves each baby more than we, the natural parents, could ever love them. We can trust in His Mercy.
