I know your pain from looking into my wife’s eyes over the years, as well as knowing my own pain. I will pray for your intentions of having a child of your own. God has His plan and sometimes we must wait for it to unfold in our lives.
A few nights ago, as we were driving, our 11yo (our oldest daughter from China) and my wife were talking about a bird that had flown into the sanctuary of our church. I listened as my wife told our dd that the bird reminded her about how God had told her where our daughter was.
The bird was flying up in the cupola at the top of the church, where it could see the outside, but couldn’t get through the glass.
Many years ago, dw had been reading one of the “Chicken Soup” books. During this time she had been praying, and asking God, “With my infertility, how will I ever get a daughter Lord?”
Then she read the story of a fly, dead on a windowsill. The fly kept trying to fly out the window, because it too could see outside, through the glass. All the while, across the room, the door was wide open.
When she had read this (still relating the story to our daughter), she said that she actually heard God’s voice saying to her, “Your daughter is in an orphanage”.
Of course, I was in tears and couldn’t speak by the time she finished the story.
**“In My Heart”
Not flesh of my flesh,
Nor bone of my bone,
But still, miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn’t grow under my heart,
But in it. **
