It is easy for someone like me to sit back and tell you that wanting someone else is wrong. But it is not God’s way. You have been married to your husband for 21 years. Have you considered Marriage Encounter or other similar weekend session that may help you reconnect with your husband (whom you once loved) and God?

All of us desire and deserve to be loved, but sometimes that love can change. Maybe the love you had for your husband has changed. Maybe it is not as romantically intense or passionate as it once was. Maybe now it is just touching or kind moments shown to each other and unspoken.

Also, consider the damage that this love of another will cause your children, your relationship with them and your relationship with God.

I speak to you of this as my wife is no longer in love with me and no longer wants to be married to me. I desparately want her to be able to emotionally reconnect. I do not know if it is possible for her to do so, but I am praying to God asking for His help and guidance. I will also pray for you.

Thank you to everyone (so far) who has given their opinion, advice, understanding and sympathy. It is not an easy position to be in and I do know the RIGHT thing to do. I pray EVERY day for Jesus to guide me and help me to make and follow through with the right decision(s). For anyone who has ever been in a situation where your head and heart do not agree, you know the struggle can be relentless.

I am so sorry that you are going through a similar situation in your marriage. It is not easy on either side to have to deal with the loss of affection. The pain and suffering is really awful. The love has definately changed for me, but not my husband. I still don’t understand why the passion has to wane if two people love each other.

We are going to try Retrouvaille, which has come highly recommended. Have you tried any programs? I will pray for you as well, and hope your wife can find that connection again!!!
