I have to write a paper on an influential 20th century Arab, and I wanted to do him. Unfortunately, there seems to be scant info on him online. Can anyone help?
Whether the late Maximos IV (Sayegh) would be considered ethnically “Arab” is debatable, but if one is looking to write about a Melkite Patriarch in that context, perhaps his successor, Maximos V (Hakim), would be a better choice. While the ethnicity issue is still technically open there too, he certainly identified himself publicly with it.
