I’m really confused right now about all this!! A few key questions in my mind:

(1) What does Scripture say?
(2) Will the world be “re-created”? Or, will the world simply be made nice/sinless again? Or, am I completely on the wrong track here?! 😛
(3) What is meant by “the end of the world”?
(4) Depending on no. 2 and 3, are people going to go to Heaven (spiritual) and then come back to Earth to be physical again? How can/will spirits (like Angels) be physical?
(5) Does the Church take the stance of saying it can’t be sure about the details? Like, for example, do we know if we’ll still see the moon in the sky? Will there be night and day? Will people’s pets come back at this point to provide additional beauty and joyous life on the Earth?
(6) Population-control might be a problem if all the Heavenly Hosts come to the new Earth…(?)
(7) Who is the anti-Christ supposed to be? Human? Where will he come from? Will it be a “he”?

If anybody could help with any of this questions I’d hugely appreciate it. Though, be warned! I suspect I may have further questions as I understand this more! 😃

Thanks,

Okay, where would be best? I was thinking along the lines of “traditional Church teaching” kind of thing…

Matthew 25:13 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

I think the point is to live as though the end will come at any minute, I believe Chatechism allows for death-bed absolution, but it also warns against shooting for that.

This beautiful planet was not meant to be Eden, nor Heaven, but we are to actively “live” here. JESUS asked us to be like children. Children move through life very readily, despite encountering some of the worst conditions available here.

I hope to have the remaining fortitude, if it should happen within my lifetime, to have the moment, and remaining breath to at least whisper “Thank you” to the ALMIGHTY, with whatever the end of the world throws at us. Hopefully we can lock arms and march into it together.

It explains it in the Book of Revelation. Some parts are as clear as day others seek your priest or spiritual director. No One really understands every detail in Revelation. Let’s look at the end of the Glory Be. “world without end Amen!!!” The world will never end but the end of time and ages will. Satan and Death will be bound in Hell for 1000 years and Heaven will be on Earth. Population control is not a worry of God. He said to be fruitful and multiply. The Earth will be like Adam and Eve. The way God intended it to be before sin came in to play. And for the last question… The false Prophet will come before the Anti Christ. The false prophet will be a man and the Anti Christ will be the Devil incarnate. Our bodies will all fit to the Glory of God.

  1. I’m not sure what this means.
  2. The world will be perfected, this is what is meant by the term “re-created”
  3. The end of time, at that point, all of creation will enter into aveternity
  4. Our bodies will be Ressurected and our souls reconnected with them, angels do not have bodies so they will remain purely spiritual
  5. We can’t be sure of the details however we know that there will be no substantial change after the Resurrection and that there will be no suffering or death for animals, there might not be animals, there might be all the animals that ever lived, there might be all the animals that were important to any of the saved, there might be just the animals who were alive at the end of the world, there might be the animals who were alive at the end of the world and those who were important to the saved, there might be only those who were important to the saved and who were alive at the end of the world
  6. God will provide
  7. The AntiChrist will be a human, we don’t know where he will come from, he’ll probably be a he but we don’t know, he’s the only human who we know for sure will be damned

Note: the Church rejects the idea that Jesus will directly reign on Earth within time, if there is a 1000 year period, it will involve a perfected human society, not a theocracy.

the Anti Christ will be the Devil incarnate.
The little fool Kim Jong Un comes to mind. North Korea is giving the impression it’s preparing for war; if so it’ll be the whole world against them.

Does the Church affirm any where that the anti-christ will be a literal person? I ask becasue I’ve heard people say that “anti-christ” refers to “evil that is against Christ” in a more general sense, rather than to a specific person. I’ve sort of gone back and forth on how literal to take it.

Odds are the end of the world will not happen in our lifetime. BUT even IF it did we must be prepared as if it will.

I would not go out of my way to prepare for some anti-Christ or plagues or whatever. Live each moment as if it will be your last, and you have nothing to worry about. IF God calls me tomorrow or this evening or in the next few moments, I’m ready. It may not be ideal for me or my family but it’s God’s will not mine.

Stay in the state of grace and you have no worry of what will come. Thank God for each moment and each day will be a joy to live. At most we have a hundred years or so, make every day count.

1000 years is what is said in Revelation and clearly states Christ will reign for 1000 years then after the 1000 years he will hand the kingdom back to the Father. Christ will come back with the multitude of angels and saints and will come back on the Earth to judge the living and the dead and to rule and reign.

LOL! We don’t know yet but time will tell.

AMEN!!! to that! All we can do is what All of Heaven ask of us PRAY PRAY PRAY! And do the best we can.

He will be a human but the Devil will take over his body and become him.

I’m really confused right now about all this!! A few key questions in my mind:

(1) What does Scripture say?
Matthew 24:29-36 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only”.

Haydock: Ver. 34. This generation; i.e. the nation of the Jews shall not cease to exist, until all these things shall be accomplished: thus we see the nation of the Jews still continue, and will certainly continue to the end of the world.
Will the world be “re-created”? Or, will the world simply be made nice/sinless again? Or, am I completely on the wrong track here?
IMO this is a reference to Christ New [for us] kingdom, not a new world as we know it.
What is meant by “the end of the world”
It means that the “Created Universe as we know it” will cease to exist.
Depending on no. 2 and 3, are people going to go to Heaven (spiritual) and then come back to Earth to be physical again? How can/will spirits (like Angels) be physical
No, this will be the time of the “Final [second] Judgment” Which Is the basis for #2
Does the Church take the stance of saying it can’t be sure about the details? Like, for example, do we know if we’ll still see the moon in the sky
I BELIEVE the Church accepts what the Bible says a s literal? But never researchd it.
Population-control might be a problem if all the Heavenly Hosts come to the new Earth
Their will be no such issue. Sexal intercouse will NOT be a part of heaven or hell.
Lk. 20: 34-35 “And Jesus said to them: The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they that shall be accounted worthy of that world, and of the resurrection from the dead, shall neither be married, nor take wives”
Who is the anti-Christ supposed to be? Human? Where will he come from? Will it be a “he”
I beleive the consensus of opinion is that its not “one” person but a series of people. IMO Obomma and the Democratic Party are all suited for this title. But so have many others past; present and future:rolleyes:

Nonsense. You really should consult Church teaching before interpreting the Bible for yourself. Your position has been condemned as heretical.
