Information on Bp. Erasmus of Arcadia

I’m looking for any Orthodox, Catholics or anyone else that has information about Bp. Erasmus of Arcadia. There is some mystery that surrounds this man, as some Methodists will allege that he ordained John Wesley, the creator of the Methodists, an Orthodox Bishop. Now, it is terribly clear that there is no concrete evidence to suggest that it is true. To me, the very idea seems like such a desperate attempt by Methodists to proclaim that they have Apostolic Succession, save the fact that they have female clergy.

Does anyone know more about this man or have information on what he did or did not due in regards to the Protestant John Wesley? I already know that there is no way they have Apostolic Succession as Catholics and Orthodox believe and have it.

I’ve never heard this. Wesley was a priest in the Church of England and as such would not have had a valid apostolic succession and, to my knowledge, he never claimed to.

There is no need to prove apostolic succession in the life of John Wesley. He was a mighty saint of God in every sense of the word. Extraordinary man mightyly used of God in ways only the most renowned Catholic saints have.

I don’t know any Methodists who are mounting any “desperate attempts” to proclaim apostolic succession. It seems to me more an issue for the Orthodox than Methodists. And in the end… what does it matter? It’s a minor among the many majors that are already being neglected in the making of disciples and Kingdom work.
