Information on Brian Walsh, mentioned in Jason Evert talk

I heard Jason Evert talk about Brian Walsh, an American seminarian who went to do work with Blessed Theresa of Calcutta’s order, and was subsequently martyred in Cambodia. I have tried to find more information about his story, but have found nothing on internet search engines. Any ideas?
 
I had the same exact question so I contacted Jason Evert. He told me the only info he had was an audio tape about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, entitled, “The Most Handsome Saint in Heaven. He told me to contact Fr. Tim Deeter. I have not done so. Let me know what you find. Rob

I just bought that DVD from them with the newscast! unfortunately, it doesn’t specifically show a photo of Brian, they just mention his name. Oh, actually, his last name is spelled “Walch”

Another thing I tried to do was look through some old yearbooks that are posted online at Classmates.com I’m guessing he probably graduated from high school in 1970 ± a year. Fr. Tim Deeter said in his talk that he went to a Catholic High School in a suburb of Detroit. Boy, there were a LOT of them! He also said Brian was the captain of the basketball team.

Fr. Tim graduated from Our Lady of the Lakes seminary in Mundelein, IL, so I’m guessing that’s where Brian was at too.

I met Brian Walsh at Camp Sancta Maria in Gaylor Michigan. He made a life lasting impression in my life. I still remember him well.

I too have been trying to research the story of Brian Walch ever since I heard Fr. Tim Deeter talk about him on the Lighthouse Catholic Media Cd. The story touched me deeply.
However. . . .
Recently I discovered this blog by a woman by the name of Molly Roth who claims to be Brian Walch’s sister. If you look at her postings, she is disturbed about many of the fasehoods that have been spread around about her late brother, and she has been motivated to contact different organizations that have produced media about Brian Walch in order to tell them which important facts they got wrong. Apparently there’s a great book you can get on Amazon Kindle that details the last days of Brian’s life in Cambodia. It’s called Purging Innocence and it’s only $10 on Kindle. I may buy it soon.
