Does the good book have anyhting to say about insomnia? And is their a patron sick for this most fustrating aliment?

YES! I find it quite humorous that I stumbled upon this after midnight. Sometimes I cant sleep till 5 am, and I need to be up early for work ugh!

And then there are the apostles who needed it at Gethsemane.
40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, "So, could you not watch * with me one hour?
Matthew 26:40

Can’t sleep? Go to Mass where St. Paul is the celebrant!

On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the morrow; and he prolonged his speech until midnight. There were many lights in the upper chamber where we were gathered. And a young man named Eu’tychus was sitting in the window. He sank into a deep sleep as Paul talked still longer; and being overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. (Acts 20:7-9)

Paul’s homily went on so long that Eutychus fell out the window and died. Paul runs downstairs, throws himself on the guy, prays and pronounces the guy alive. Then he goes upstairs and finally gets around to the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

But Paul went down and bent over him, and embracing him said, “Do not be alarmed, for his life is in him.” And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed. (Acts 20:10:11)

Makes our six hour Easter Vigil look like a walk in the park.

Pray the Rosary! I suffered for insomnia for years as a Protestant. When I found the Rosary, I found a form of prayer that didn’t depend on what I was saying and led me into a real state of peace. I totally understand how horrible insomnia is and will pray for you.
